| I installed my Magnaflow Exhaust!!! I posted on an earlier thread that I decided to go with the Magnaflow 16782 system. I ordered it from Planet Magnaflow. They met the price of the exhaust from another website that was cheaper, had a physical address and phone number on their website which is something that I usually require when purchasing an expensive item. I ordered the exhaust on 3/21 and it took them until 3/25 to ship it. To me this is unacceptable; it shouldn’t take that long to ship an item. It then took FedEx until 3/29 to deliver it ground. If it isn’t on the forum, maybe we should start a thread/topic, just rating vendors and their prices for items we all want/need. It would be nice to see who the cheapest vendor is, and who the best vendor is to deal with for different categories. The install was pretty simple, I did it in my garage with a jack and jack stands (made it a little easier to roll under the truck with my creeper), and only a few tools. A socket wrench, an open end wrench, and a torque wrench. I also used my air socket wrench to save time. I think I only used 3 different sockets (12mm, 14mm and 15mm). The instructions included with the exhaust were simple and easy to understand (see below link). The entire install took me about 1.5 hours. This included everything, from setup to clean up and taking pictures. I didn’t rush at all, and really just took my sweet time. I didn’t have any problems getting the OEM exhaust off of the rubber hangers. My truck is new and still has the original grease on them. The one or two that were a little stubborn came off with a quick pry with a large screw driver. The new exhaust bolted right on and was quick and easy. The only problems I ran into were with a couple of the openings that slip over the other pipe ends. A couple of them were bent in so I had to use my ball peen hammer to open them back up so they would slip over the pipe easily. I have attached a link to an article of the same installation that I did. It took the people in the article 30 minutes which is actually reasonable if you had a lift. The exhaust looks great (IMO) and sounds great too. There is some resonance in the cab between 1800 and 2000 rpm’s, but that is it. There is just enough low rumble to know you have something powerful under the hood, but it isn’t so loud that your passenger’s ears bleed. On the test drive, my 5 year old was actually complaining that he couldn’t hear the exhaust, and that he wanted it louder. So for me the sound is perfect and I am really happy. I would efinitely recommend this exhaust, and if you have the time and a few tools you could install it yourself. Hope this helps others trying to decide what to get. Nope, just the K&N filter. I talked to the guy I deal with locally for truck performance products, and he talked me out of it. He said that the replacement filter will get me about the same CFM as a FIPK/CAI, and the existing box gets enough cool air. He said it isn't worth the money for the maybe 2% increase in horsepower. I had one on my 06 Tundra, and didn't notice any improvement whatsoever, just more engine noise. Has anyone noticed a significant performance increase with the CAI on the 5.7?

| AFE claims a pretty good horsepower and torque increase. Dont know how accurate it is, but I do know I installed and AFE stage 2 kit on my Duramax Diesel and it worked great, you could tell the difference. I think the main difference is not the box design but the intake tube replacement. |

| I have the magnaflow 16782 too and love it I have the magnaflow 16782 too and love it, they are cheaper on ebay but I wanted a warranty (the salt on the roads here in winter kills an exhaust) so I got it here magnaflow 16782, or you can try one of the vendors here, they are always running sales/specials. either way its a great system and very easy to install.
