It's not too hard to do. Just keep all sharp objects away from the paint (including finger nails if possible) and you should be fine. If you need to use a finger nail, you can polish the tiny scratches out.

If you use some +/- 20 lb fishing line between the badge and the paint going back-and-forth, like you use dental floss, the badges will be off in a few minutes. Go slow and don't force it. I re-badged mine.

I'd like to take the plunge and debadge, but have a few questions:
It's cold here in upstate NY. Should I be patient and wait until some days with temps in the 80's in say May, or can I use a hairdryer in the winter?
Can a hairdryer potentially bubble or damage the paint?
Any other tips on debadging?

Thanks,
Jay

I did it on a day that was about 65 and did not used any other heat. I have removed vinyl and badges from other cars with a heat gun or hair dryer. You just use enough heat to make the vinyl or glue malleable. It does not take much. The idea is not to melt the glue or sticker. In fact too much heat makes a sticky mess. The right balance is soft enough to peel or pull off, but not so hot you can't touch it. There should not be enough heat to damage the paint if you follow this suggestion.
Good luck.
