Not until I turn my high beams off. Then I might not be able to see much until my eyes adjust to the lack of light.

Nicework. Those look like some good solid brackets. I take it these are spot beams then?

BTW, there is a third horn on the left side of the engine compartment mounted against the wall. Any idea what it is for?

The brackets are stronger than the factory metal they bolt into. So they can shake just a little, but that is because of what they bolt onto. The metal above the radiator is pretty thin and flimsy. 1/8" angled steel isn't going to move much at all.

They are not spot beams (aka pencil beams), they are actually euro beams. Spot beams are mostly useless unless you have a BUNCH of them together. The euro beams are wider and more useful. They are more like a high beam pattern. The top half of the lens is designed for long range like a pencil beam is, the lower half of the lens is designed to spread out the light in apprx. 110 degrees to light up the whole road.

Here's a good reference for beam patterns:

Nice looking lights!
That first pic with them lit up reminded me of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"
Been thinking about adding fogs and Off Road lights using a bull bar or ???.
Just one question, notice any engine temp difference with them blocking so much of the radiator?

I think this is the keyless entry/security horn, they are seperate.

I thought about a bull bar but they don't really do much. They are more cosmetic than anything else. I thought about making a light bar, but I eventually want to try making my own bumper with a built in winch eventually. And mounting expensive lights that could get stolen or destroyed in a 2 mph bump did not appeal to me. So this was what I came up with. What I REALLY wanted was a grill with cutouts for the lights. I would have made one if I could have found some cheaper zinc bars that I wanted or had the supplies to weld aluminum. But then I'd have to mount to the grill rather than the truck, then the hood gets heavier, and then I have to buy bigger gas struts to lift the hood and keep it up, and so on...

No engine temp problems so far, but I haven't been driving that far since I put them on. This weekend might be a better tell when I drive a few hours down to South Texas to meet up with rarjar. Course, it's cool in Texas right now so any real tests will have to wait until our Texas summer. I don't foresee any real problem. The grille is so open and the lights are more than 2 inches away from the condenser.

It's probably still better than having one of those EG wire mesh bolt over grilles on the truck.

Thanks for the compliment. I am the kind of person who looks at buying vs. building something myself. If I can do it better for close to the same cost or cheaper, then I will build it myself. I'd rather learn to do it myself than pay for someone else to do it. All my mods so far were at least installed by me, except for the Line-X. I didn't think 123Gone was going to let me don a smock and start spraying.

Very nice Tox... You inspire the old Fabricator in me. Sometimes it's better to do it yourself, even if it costs more. Great job.
