| I think it turned out pretty good. I've never tried to actually detail a vehicle before and getting quality detailing products around here is next to impossible so I've been using wally-world stuff for now. Time to start getting some stuff off the web. Filtering our water was probably the single best thing I did, that made a huge difference. I also picked up a dual-action polisher and some micro-fibre pads, it really brought out a great shine with the Turtle Wax Ice. Next time around it definately needs a clay bar, it's got some very stubborn bug guts and water spots from previous washings. Once I get it to where I want it, it'll be a challenge to keep it that way, it gets driven every day and stays outside, it won't fit in my garage.

| After reading this thread, I'm wondering if it's cheaper and easier to Line-X the whole exterior and bed of the truck... Question: Has anyone taken this path? |

| I've been claybarring and waxing my truck since day one, using only the finest products. I use tarry cloth towels to dry the truck off. I bet you wont find one swirl mark on my truck and it looks good as it did on day one. I use Zaino wax, the stuff is amazing. My truck is 2.5 years old. Check out my pics under the photos section or my garage. You'll be amazed, not being cocky, rather proud of how good it still looks after all this time. If you maintain your paint job it easier to wash it and have it look good all the time, you won't have to spend hours to bring it back to its original look. |
