Smoking Tail Lights

hey guys my next project on my truck is gonna be to smoke my tail lights. i want to do it by myself but really dont know what to do... has anybody else done this? and if so please help me out

haven't done it, but i understand they are hell to keep lit...LOL

It's much like painting parts. Remove and wet sand the parts. 1000+ grit sand paper and be sure not to use too much pressure. Use a degreaser to clean all surfaces that will be painted and then mask off all parts that will not be sprayed. Keep your fingers off the degreased areas. Mix up the clear with the hardener like you normally would. Then add in some black to darken it up a little. It's better to start off light and then paint it darker with more coats, otherwise you might start too dark. Start painting on coats just like regular paint until it's as dark as you want the smoke to be. You can add another coat of clear over that if you really want, but I figure it's not really needed.

VHT NIGHTSHADE, with a clear coat works well. but be very patient, i mean very patient. It's the key part to getting it right, and don't let apply to much at a time or it will run and look bad
