Took my 2007 Double cab in for new tires two weeks ago, and I have been back four times now with a vibration. This last time I took it to the highway and ran it up to 70 and was still shaking. The have ordered another set for me, so we will try that. Has anyone here had a this much trouble, I assume the bridgestone p-rated tires on it was origanal. I bought the truck used with 40k on it and replaced them with mastercraft courser at2 6ply. I know these are heavier than the original p's but i have ran these tires before on other trucks that I have had with no issues. Any thoughts?:1headscratch2:

OK, so I had some free time today and decided to do a test fit on my 35/13.50/18's (325/65/18). I used my full size spare rim and the tire I bought for a spare (Hankook Dynapro M/T). It took 70 pounds of air to get it to pop onto the rim. It fit WAY better than expected. I have to remove the front mud flap for full front articulation. I will need to trim the body mount slightly and thats it. Plenty of room between tire and UCA and it isn't even close to the skid plate. (see pics below) Whoo Hoo!!!

fill in the wheel well very nicely

plenty of room straight ahead

Not even close to the UCA

rubs front mud flaps so they gotta go

never came close to skid plate in either direction

didnt hit body mount but will need minor trim to be safe

I was pretty happy overall with fitment. Couple minor bugs but no worries. The wheels are Pro Comp 7089's. They were advertised as 17x9 but I measure them and they are 17x8.5, with 5.5 backspace and 19 for offset.

(I posted this under the Warren Tire section, but thought would get some other ideas)

I have a 2007 crewmax 4x2 and it is time for new tires. I have the bridgestone h/t and haven't been impressed. Here is what I would love to find:

*aggressive looking tire. I know it is just a 4x2, but want a good looking agressive look.

* quiet ride

* good tread wear

I live in the south so don't have to drive in snow. I am getting them for my birthday so not that worried about price. Mostly to highway driving. I know it may not be achievable to find a tire that is quiet and smooth while also being really aggressive looking while also having good tread life, but hey, doesn't hurt to ask!

Any suggestions?

Hi everyone. I have been doing a lot of research and have some questions about tire and wheel size.
I have an '08 Tundra Crew Max 4WD with a 2 1/2" front lift and a 1 1/2" rear lift and I am on the hunt for new wheels and tires. I would like to get some 33" tires that will help fill out the wheel wells, and would prefer that they stick out beyond the fender about 1" as I am planning on adding fender flares. I was thinking of 20" wheels (not sure what brand/model). Does anyone have recomendations as to rim width, backspacking and offset that might help me accomplish what I want? Also, what size tire for a 20" rim?
I know this seems like a laze approach, but I have been checking into this for weeks and can REALLY use any help from you tire and wheel Gurus out there. ANY help or suggestions are MUCH appreciated!
Thanks,
Ken

I will be the first one to say that I hate larger rims and would love to get rid of my 18's for 15 or 16's. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the price of tires for 18's or 20's when they are so expensive for less rubber. Am I the only one that wishes trucks would go back to 15" rims?

So unfortunately I've decided against leveling my truck, just for warranty and drivability issues, as well as the fact that the dealer has no idea about re-calibrating the VRSC to a true zero, and i just feel like its going to be a hassle. so my question is, can i run 275/70/18s on a stock rim, the 18x8 5 spoke stockers to be more exact? I just want something a little wider, little more agressive for the snow season, but not lose MPG and power.

sorry if the question is repetitive but this ???? is driving me nuts!

Well I have started calling around pricing a set for my 07 Crew Max with the 2.4 leveling kit. The prices I am getting range between 1250-1350 for a set. Is this a decent price or is there a better place that I should look to buying them (online, etc.)? My other question is the last place I called said that they only came in a 10-ply tire...is this true? If so, for those of you that have this tire, how does the 10-ply affect the ride quality? Have you noticed any major differences over the stock tire? Also, what difference in MPG have you noticed since moving up to this size?
Thanks,
