Drive slower and try to find gas without ethanol in it.
Any questions about truck mods I have done need to be asked in the forums. Don't send me a private message about mods cause I probably won't answer that PM unless there is money involved.

Keeping at the speed limit helps greatly! I also get 1-1.5 mpg better when I stick to synthetic OW20 oil.

You will get your best MPG by keeping your engine RPM between 1k and 1.5k in all gears. If you coast up to stop lights and and don't gas it pulling away you can get 17.5 to 18 mpg in town and 24 to 26 hwy. Max speed on hwy(6th gear) at 1.5k rpm is 60mph.

Get yourself a ScangaugeII or an Ultragauge.
You can learn a LOT about your driving style that will improve your mileage.

Mine should be in the mail any day now. Anyone else have one? Curious to see where you mounted it.

so whats the sell on the scanguageII - mendonsy tell me why it helps you... I've been thinking about getting one for a few years now, but never pulled the trigger. My truck as the mpg gauge up top, so not sure the scanguage would help me w/ regards to gas mileage help.

It's more accurate as its plugged into the computer, in a sense.
Temps, speeds. MPG, error codes (I think) basically anything the computer gets can be scanned on the ultra gauge. I jumped on a group buy and got it for $60 something I believe.

If you got it for $60something you got a smokin' deal. I got mine in a group buy on PriusChat for around $140. On Amazon they cost between $150 and 160.

I have one in both my Prius and my truck. I have had them for several years and feel they are useful. If you can clear an error code you can pay for the thing in short order, and it does give some good information. I like the precise temp gauge, as well as RPMs. Whether it saves me any gas or not is hard to say.

    $60...can you share your source

I believe they both read the same data for mpg, I can see the benefits for other things, but the mpg I'm struggling with.
