    #%&$!! front brake pins

A tip for those of you who live in areas that use a lot of road salt:
Those pins that hold the front brake pads in the calipers can rust in place so badly that you can't get them out. The only thing that works is "heat and beat" but heating with a torch will destroy the caliper seals. If your front brake pads last more than a year then I suggest that you replace those pins annually so you don't have to replace the calipers.

Good heads up. One buddy at MI had the same problem on passenger side brake pin.

Would coating them in anti-seize before re-installing help?

It definitely does help, but even that isn't the whole answer. The set that I had to replace had been coated with anti-sieze when installed but had been in place for two years and would not come out.

It is certainly worth checking those pins just to be safe, but it won't be as big a problem there as it is here in the lake Ontario snow belt where they use lots of road salt. The set that I had a problem with were coated with anti-sieze when they were installed new but after two winters in the road salt they would not come out.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Had to replace my breaks and ended up with the same issue...lots of patience and a little sweat, busted fingers, flattened out pin ends, little more oil, lot more patience....they came out but I wish I'd have known about that before then. In fact, I'll have to go thru the same thing again because I haven't done it since moving back up to Minnesota....where we use LOTS of salt on the roads. Oh Well, least I know what's in store
