Damn cows

One of them decided to dive into the passenger fender and door on my way to work at 1:30 am today. We'll see what the adjuster says....

Hear ya' bronc, and sorry to hear about the damage to your truck. Did this happen on the highway or within a pasture? Anyhow, I've gotten where I use my Tundra to feed my cows as a last resort because they tend to get rambunctious when I'm putting out cubes, and inevitably, one will push another such that they have come very close to running into my truck. Been lucky so far, but I know one of these days I'm gonna end up with a nice dent in a fender, lol! Maybe I can use this to convince my wife to let me get a ranch truck!

It was on a rural road; slowed down, but couldn't stop completely. As I went around the cow, it wheeled around and ran striaght into the passenger fender and door.

From what I can tell, just the fender and door were damaged. They are not fixable and will need to be replaced.

The cow managed to escape, but I might have discovered the owner. Perhaps he will consider paying my deductable.

Technically speaking (or at least it's so in Texas), he is responsible for the entire repair if you can prove it's his cow and it's loose on a public road. Well, maybe one exception... and that is in Texas, some county roads go through rancher's property and if there is a sign up warning you that cattle are grazing freely, then the rancher might escape at least some of the liability.

I knew a guy that was feeding cows once. He was driving to where he put out the feed and the cows were running next to his truck. Something happened where a cow got knocked into the side of his truck and dented up the side of his truck. Damage was several grand. Let's hope yours is cheaper.
