Techstream on your laptop

wileetundra has purchased a Mongoose interface adapter which allows you to hook up your laptop to your Tundra via the OBDII port. Techsteam software can be downloaded for a free evaluation period or you can register for permanent use for $55. wileetundra will rent the interface for 2 days for $35 (Initial cost to him was $485 so $35 including shipping is very reasonable) You can get on the list to rent here:

That is nice of wileeTundra but if you want to purchase an interface for yourself, the Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 costs $169 and can be used with the Techstream software.

Sweet. Would be super handy for guys who want to run summer and winter tires with 2 sets of TPMS. Or even for local mechanics.

Anyone know if Lexus uses the same techstream software? I would assume so since you can get the Toyota dealership to service your Lexus.

Oh man. Techstream is a VERY useful tool for trained techs.

Its not something just anyone should be using, there is A LOT of damage that can be done if you do not know what you are doing with it. Edit: I should say, it would not be covered under warranty either.

I tune cars on the side, and had a tactrix (sp?) cable, and just downloaded the software from work, and yes, once you get the drivers loaded the tactrix cable works perfectly.

Very good point Toyota Tech, anyone willing to do this, would have to do so at there own risk.

Here is the link for the Tactrix Openport 2.0 driver Download Drivers + J2534. Once installed, it will show up as an available VIM in Techstream.

For those that want a copy of Techstream, you can sign up for a 2-day Professional subscription for $55 at TIS and get a copy complete with product key.

I just dont think people understand what you are actually capable of doing with Techstream, and just how easy it is to screw something up, kick out your keys in immobilizer, start a test in the active test mode , etc. etc.

Jsut want people to know, its a VERY powerful tool, and shouldnt be used unless you have been trained on it, OR, are willing to accept the responsibility of a broken truck lol.
