| Just got my latest issue of Car & Driver a couple of days ago. They have published the results of their long term test of the 2007 Tundra. They drove a 5.7L 4x4 SR5 DC. The overall review of the truck was that Toyota had made a truck which could compete with the Big 3 American trucks. Reliability was excellent with only 1 electronic glitch (dash lights lighting up inexplicably) which was repaired by the dealer at no charge. They put ~ 42K miles on the truck in less than a year and towed with it often. They had 6 regularly scheduled visits to the dealer for oil changes, tire rotations and other 4WD related inspections. The tally for the 6 visits was in the $628 range (I do not have the issue right in front of me). This compared favorably with the Titan they long-term tested a couple of years ago. The Titan had 5 visits for slightly more dinero. Some felt that Toyota had made the truck too big. The article has not been posted on C&D's website yet. I will link it when it is. I now have > 47K on mine and my Tundra is about exactly the same as theirs (save the powerplant) and my experience is just about the same as theirs. Would buy it all over again. re.ac.tor ![]()

| The truck is surprisingly bigger than it looks. When I looked at them in the dealer parking lot and even after test driving it didn't feel "bigger" than my Suburban. But I can tell you its going to be tight in the garage this winter especially with the tow mirrors. we'll see how long it takes one of the kids or the wife to take off the right side mirror. Electric tow mirrors that folded would be nice. |

| YA YA ---- your right! The wife was complaining last night about getting in and out because of the height. I can not understand how anyone could complain about riding in such a fine vehicle. I don't complain about having to get in her Accura TL on my hands and knees. I guess I'm going to have to get some tube steps. It's just I know every time I get in and out I'll be rubbing my pant legs on them. |
