Navigation System Default

This is my first post so please forgive if this sounds remedial. I have a 2008 Crew Max Limited. Is it possible to change the default so that the nav system does not come up everytime you change gears or start you vehicle? It is a real pain when just driving around town.

You have to find the "Auto Transition" to map function (I think it is in the display menu) and turn it off.

The Map will still come up as default when you re-start, but at least it will stay where you put it for the duration of your trip.

Yeah I found that, was just wondering if you could set your own prefrence for a default (like audio). Seems strange Ford has it but not Toyota.
