OEM Single CD to 6 Disc Changer Mod Question

My 08 Tundra came with a single disc unit. I would like to upgrade to the OEM 6 disc in dash unit. My question is, will this be a direct swap or will it require a wiring harness change? My Tundra has the bench seat up front, from what I am reading, I believe in order to get my radio out, I have to pull the climate control unit to get to the screws holding the radio in, how do I pull the climate control out? Do I need to remove anything else to get the radio out? Does anybody have an OEM 6 disc changer they want to sell?

Thanx.

there is a thread on how to take apart your climate controll, if i remember right it is on tox's blue led light switch. I do have a factory 6 disc changer it has about 3 hours on it i install a tv right away. I dont know if there is a different wiring harness for the six disc i cant image there is because all you would really need is power and a ground and they new head unit has all the controlls for the 6 disc. I hope this helps you.

See if the attached pdf file on removing the radio helps any... while it is for an 07 Tundra, I would think it would be the same for an 08. Good luck!

The harness should be the same. Just be sure you get a 6 disc changer with the internal amp, not the one for the external JBL amp.

Thanx for all of the info, got a 6 disc radio off of ebay, owner pulled it as soon as he got home with his new Tundra to install an aftermarket, so it is basically new. Installed it yesterday afternoon, worked my way through finding all of the bolts and press clips and it worked out fine. Wife loves the 6 disc changer, we had one in our Excursion which we traded for this Tundra and missed it immediately, so this upgrade was definitely needed.
