Sinking Dash

Well I was hoping that I wouldn't have this problem with the sinking dash but Today I noticed that the passenger side had sank about 1/4 inch and looks like garbage. I'm am furious and extremely disappointed I have only 3000 miles on the truck and it is only two months old. This is not the kind of quality I expected out of a $50,000 truck. I know there is a TSB out for the dash rattle and some people have said that that fix helps with the sinking but It looks like they have to take apart almost the entire dash to fix it. How many of you had this problem fixed?

I think there is a TSB for the sinking dash too.

I have seen the tsb for the rattle but not for the sinking dash. From what I can see it should help with the sinking issue as well. I have not run across the issue in person. The entire dash does not have to come out, just have to pull back on the right side after loosening it up. It can't be to hard it doesn't pay that well.

Mine goes in the shop tomorrow for the sinking dash. My understanding is that they ordered a new dash for me.

On mine it was on the passenger side corner near the front post for the roof. The dash where it meets the post sank below the small ridge on which it was supposed to sit. I'll try to post some photos later.

Hey, mine did that too. I'll have to get it in...maybe I'll ask them to turn on the alarm while I'm there.

i looked at mine this morning and it is doing the same thing the you described. i guess now i have to find time to take my truck into the dealer and get them to fix it.

i do have a question about the rattling in the dash. obviously everyone hears noises in thier truck as they drive...is this rattle very noticable, or is it something that you would just hear and it annoy you, but you wouldnt really pay much attention to?

Nate

Okay, here are the photos of my dash. I confirmed with the service tech that they are replacing the entire dashboard. He said that it is a defective dashboard and that's the only way to really fix it. I'm glad their service department is better than their sales department.

Defective side:
