Talking Center Console

Did you know....

That the top of the console slides forward?? Press up on the latch on the front like you are going to open it and slide it forward instead of opening it.

For those of you who have long arms or want to rest a laptop in better viewing position...its kind of neat!

I use that feature now and then while driving. I also do that when I park the truck and hide the MP3 player and radar detector inside the center console. When the arm rest is slid forward, you can't open the center console. So it acts like a kind of lock since you have to slide it back before you can open it. Might stop someone in a hurry from getting a few items.

The center cup holder pops out and there is a little room underneath for storage or hiding stuff. Just open up the map compartment and lift on the cup holders.

Nice trick - hadn't thought of that one.

I had my pocket PC stolen out of my own driveway a year or 2 ago so I try not to leave those types of items in my vehicle anymore.

Just imagine if these had been available when I was in college, early, early 70's.

Everyone would have their own individual beer holder, lots of places to stash their stash, and an awesome stereo for listening to Dark Side of the Moon, Led Zeppelin, and on, and on...

Any neat thing about the regular cab that I should know about?

I'm old but I do like my beer and plug the I-pod in for a little Credence Clearwater.

Never got into the stash. College in the 60's was more about sports and too short because "Uncle Sam Wants You"!
