Window Roll Up Timer

When you park the truck and remove the key, you have a certain amount of time to roll the window up. In case you wondered how long you have to roll up the windows, I came across this info:

Quote:
When the front doors are closed and the ignition switch is turned from ON to OFF, each power window regulator motor can control its power window operation for approximately 43 +/-1.5 seconds by receiving operation permission signals from the main body ECU.
However, when approximately 43 +/-1.5 seconds have elapsed, or the driver side door or front passenger side door is opened within approximately 43 +/-1.5 seconds after turning the ignition switch OFF, the power window regulator motor stops operating.
Where did they come up with the time of 43 seconds?

I'm sure they had meetings to discuss when they would have meetings to figure this out.

It would seem that Toyota has a very stringent electrical power management system, Between this and the aux power inputs.

Ahh yes the electrical timer. I remember my 2002 Accord having a 20 second time frame for the windows to operate. However, if you operated the windows within that 20 second time frame, the timer would restart again. After 20 seconds, the power would be completely cut off to the windows or if you opened any of the doors, it would shut off as well.

Definitely and odd number.

Switching from range rover to tundra , tundra has much of options that my range rover did. one of the things that is different is rangerover u can close and open the rear view mirrors without ignition key. it gets to me everytime so far i get the key out and i forget that tundra doesnot work without the key in. it would have been a good option.

43 seconds

I saw that also--funny thing is it says '43 seconds' the first time and then 'about 43 seconds' somewhere later. Now, the 43 seconds was interesting to see, but I really had to laugh when I saw the second one suggested it was not exactly 43 seconds after all.

Why not just say 'about 45 seconds' for both ?

Having worked in the R/C Hobby field as a part-timer product support person, I always get a kick out of Japanese product manuals. You never know what kind of gems you'll find in them.

Later,
Blaine

Mine works all the time and never fails. You just crank the little handle.

Why 43 seconds? That is easy. Now that that Tundra is US built the engineers are trying to become good ole boys. Who is more a good ole boy than #43 himself, The King, Richard Petty from Nascar.
