| For all around, MTX has always been good and reliable. And most of their amps aren't huge so it's fairly easy to find a place for them under the seat.

| Talked To A Circuit City Guy And I Was Told To Change Stereo First, And Not Speakers. If I Don't Want Subwoofers, amps Etc. Because Polk Wont Give Me Base That Stock Has. So He Only Wanted To Sell Stereo. Stock Speakers Can Handle All Ranges Of Sound Without Subs And Amp. I Was Told That If I Want Amp Then Have To Go To Polks And Subs For Full Sound. I Have The Non Jbl, Do I Have Subwoofer In Non Jbl? Wht He Said Sounds Like An Interesting Start For Better Sound, Not Louder Sound. |

| Good Ideas Toxarch. I Read Your Post On Kit, Thats Written Down. Next, What Stereo Has More Amp Power And What Kind Of Speakers In Front And Back In Crewmax That Can Carry Almost Full Range Including Base? Trying To Get Good Sound Without Subwoofers, Amps Etc. I Know That The Sky Is Limit,i Just Want Better Quality Sound. All Ideas Are Appreciated Due To This Is Not My Bag. |

Im in the same boat as you, the sound on the non jbl system sucks. My previous 05 tundra had the jbl 6 speaker system an it blew this one away. Any way have been doing some research on Crutchfield: Car Audio, LCD TV, Plasma TV, Speakers, Home Theater . I suggest you spend some time there and read i learned alot. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish as to what you should buy. i also want to stay away from subs, amps and extra wiring if i can help it. From what i read in factual and reviews a new head unit with at least 15-22 rms watts(50w times 4channels),and new speakers to replace crappy factory ones will give us more volume, way better clarity for highs and mids, and crisp but not thundering clear bass. Lrt me know how you make out. Im regreting not spending the eztra money for the navigation jbl 12 speaker system in the limited models(superior sound). The thing that is holding me up right now is the money, looking at all in one navigation unit and speakers and rear view camera totalling about 2gs. |

| crewmax, need better sound without breaking bank thanks ptpetro, thats the type of answer to question I was looking for. I looked at crutchfield as well. I want to go simpler but what pioneer or alpine head unit that takes cd will give me 5-22 rms watts(50w times 4channels) you talked about, i am not sure what that means? I could call CRUTCHFIELD. what speakers were you looking at to avoid subs and external amps that can give you sound you are looking for? I have crewmax too so curious, are you considering dash speakers and so what kind from homework you have done? |
