Rough Country 3/1.5 on an '09 DC

I don't consider a 3/1.5 to be "highly modified", but I'll get some pics up. I've got about 12k miles on this lift so far and am happy with it, with the exception of very minor driveline vibration when accellerating from a stop.

I have seen the lowering bracket for the center bearing on here, but the one posted seems to be for a larger lift. I am trying to find out exactly how much to lower the carrier for my 1.5" rear lift. The RC blocks are tapered, and I still think that the taper throws off the driveline angles, but if spacers on the center bearing will resolve it I will go that route.

I have always preferred non-tapered blocks to keep driveline angles correct when blocks are the spacer of choice. I really didn't expect a problem with a smallish 1.5" block regardless.

I'd like to hear a solution for this too. I'm contimplating between the truxx and low range kits but i'd like to have a 1.5" in the back, a lot of leveling kits ive seen make the truck sit front high, not into that look at all and i have to carry a snowmobile in the winter.

I would suggest 1" non-tapered blocks for the rear.

I am going to drop my carrier bearing a little and see if this eliminates the problem.

I just ordered a FatBob's leveling kit, www.fatbobsgarage.com that is similar to the Toytec kit. The main difference is that the Fatbob's kit has uses cast iron blocks to lift the back. I wanted the cast iron because I have a friend that had the aluninum blocks (not Toytec) on the rear of his truck and one of the pins that helps hold them in place sheered off under hard acceleration. He had to have his truck towed and it took about 7 hrs. to undo and fix the damage. The Fatbob's kit is a 3" front with 1" or 1 1/2" rear. It also comes with the drop plate for the diff, spacers for the skid plate, and bump stop washers. You have to ask about their kit as it is not listed on the web site yet. I am scheduled to receive it on the 22nd and hope to have it installed the same day. I will post pictures and feed back soon after.

Fatbob's blocks are the only ones I found without a taper. They would be my choice if I had to do it again.

I installed the FatBob's 3" / 1 1/2" lift today and I really

like it. The kit went on fine with no issues. I also used the 1" front diff spacers and the spacers for the rear three bolts of the skid plate. The ride is unchanged. The truck looks level. My rear wheel well is 1/8" higher than my front, off the tire, and I always have about 200-400 lbs. of stuff I carry in the bed.
The cost of the kit was $188.00 with military discount, but that did not include the front diff spacers or skid plate spacers. They made a mistake during ordering and 2nd day aired those items to me, at no cost, so I would have them in time for the install. I am very pleased with the quality of the kit as well as the look and ride of my truck. I highly recommend FatBob's. Excellent people, excellent product. www.fatbobsgarage.com If it is sunny tomorrow I will take a few pictures to post.
