| If I were you, I would go in search for a different dealer. I would also go into the dealership knowing what each item is worth, both MSRP and dealer invoice. If they still want to put the screws to you, tell them that if they don't want to sell you a truck at a fair price, someone else will. I live in Louisiana and I gave the local dealership first chance, but they blew it because they wanted to play games. I drove to a dealership in the beaumont, tx area and they wanted to sell me a truck at a fair price, so I bought it from them. I don't think it's Toyota trying to put the screws to you, but the dealership.

| The glass break sensor and remote start can be bought from online dealers who charge much less. TRDSparks.com is a Florida dealer who sells accessories for a fairly low cost. Install the smaller stuff yourself. Course, the alarm for the GBS has to be activated by the dealer after your install. GBS: Sparks Toyota Remote Start: Sparks Toyota Carpet Floor Mats: Sparks Toyota

| Oh yeah, I started with the local dealer also but they wouldn't deal. So I talked with at least a dozen dealers up to 800 miles away to find my truck. I live near Fort Worth and had a great offer on a preferenced truck from a dealer in Oklahoma. I was going to order from them but then the local dealer talked me into coming in to see him. I actually offered a higher price than the dealer on Oklahoma was offering just because it would save me time and gas for 2 vehicles having to drive there and back. I had a flat agreement of X dollars over invoice so any OEM options I ordered through them was in that price and they made no profit from them. Like Patcap38 said, if your dealer won't deal, find another one. There are tons of e-mail dealers at dealerships who wold love your business. Send them e-mails and tell them what you are looking for. You can do it all from your computer until you narrow it down to who you want to deal with. |

| Ditto what others have said. It's not Toyota, it's your dealer marking up the accessories. I'd tell them to stick their add-ons where the sun don't shine and buy elsewhere. Believe me, it's worth the hassle, these are great trucks.

| Ditto what the above have said. Additionally - dealers should be dealing on light trucks these days due to them not moving secondary to the higher cost of fuel. I heard that light truck sales took a 19% hit last month. So, some dealer somewhere should be willing to deal. re.ac.tor ![]()

| What they said... I ended up going to a dealer in Silsbee Texas (well out of my local area or the area where I work) because they made me the best deal. Several other dealers wouldn't budge on price.

| I agree with the other responses, the dealership is trying to rip you off. You might want to check your bank, insurance carrier etc. to see if they offer a car buying service. My Credit Union has a "Auto Acquisitions" program. I only go to dealerships to "test drive" to see what I want. I have not purchased a vehicle directly from a dealership in years. Through my credit union I am guaranteed invoice, and then any rebates associated with the vehicle. All I do is call the guy, tell him what I want and he does all the work. He even does the trade-in negotiating. I also have USAA as my insurance carrier, and they assist with auto loans and purchases. There are more options than just driving from dealership to dealership. |
