New guy with questions re 5.7

I hope that someone can help me with some info re the 5.7 v8 in the Tundra. I have a landcruiser that I tow with that currently has a 4.7V8 and I would like to fit a newer 5.7. Has anyone undertaken a similar exercise and can you advise me as to whether the same transmission will cope with th 5.7 and also where is the best place to source a 5.7 in Los Angeles as I want to ship this to Australia ??

Thanks in advance.

What year is the landcruiser? Unless it's the new one, I doubt the engine would fit under the hood. Well, not without alterations.

As for sourcing one, you might consider saving some money and buying used. Last year around this time, the new engines by themselves were selling for $20K or something ridiculous like that. I don't know about now.

The 5.7 is a gigantic engine and the 6 speed tranny is pretty long too.

I once saw a 1985 Landcruiser with a Chevy 440 in it. It looked like a drunken welder had a field day with it, but that thing hauled *ss alright! Had a Chevy tranny in it too of course.

Fitting a 5.7 in sounds like a boatload of hassle. Why not a Supercharger from TRD?
