looking to purchase with a few questions

I am look at a 2007 Limited 4x2 CrewMax 5.7. It was a DEMO and has 5000 miles. I have read through the site, and have a few questions. 1) Will/Can I need to install the leveling kit? 2) Are their many lift options with a 4x2 truck? 3) Best CAI on the market..

I'll give my opinion, but know I'm no expert on lifts. The need for a levelling kit I believe is two-fold. You either want bigger tires and need the clearance up front or you don't like the look of the truck with the back-end higher than the front. I don't think that a leveling kit will do anything other than that...give a little more clearance and make the truck look "level". As for the CAI, most folks on here have run the Volant system and have been pleased. I was planning on getting the AFE stage II but only because that it one of the few that has an application for the 4.7L. I think you'll be happy with the performance from the Volant. It seems most people are. There are some minor fitment issues but they seem easy to fix. Hope that helps.

BTW, Welcome to the group. I'm sure you'll get more feedback from others.

Welcome..............I have the level kit in the front and 1 inch block in the rear and it can be done to either 4x4 or 4x2, it is a simple "spacer" at the top of the coil in front.

Grimmkt is right, I did it to clear bigger tires.... 34 inch high x12.2 inch wide all terrain's tires and I think it make the 4x4 truck look like a 4x4...........

You will love the Tundra........See PIC below

Cool, i was able to find into on the 3/1 you are talking about. I love the truck, but the dealer and I are currently 2K off on a price. I would of figured they would be more willing to move the 2007 as they have a ton of 2008s on the lots!

I think you're right. I'd stick to your price and you'll probably get what you want.

That is pretty much the same kind of deal I am looking for. Could you give me the name of that dealer so i can look it up online? The one I am looking at is stickered at 40,500. They put a selling price of 32,999, and they are down to 29999. I am getting a fair price for my trade in, but still want a little more to make it a great deal! I love the truck, but I really dont need one so the deal has to be great!

That deal may be right for a new 08 but I would think they would cut more for an 07 demo in this market........

The dealer is "Herrin Gear Toyota" in Jackson Mississippi................I think that is how you spell it....search for toyota in Jackson, MS....there are only two local.....

Good luck.........and play hard ball, it's your money

Cool, thanks. I will have to look around the site tomorrow. Tuesday a sales rep called and said that she had a GM work the deal, and the one stated above was the best I was going to get and that I wouldnt be able to find a better deal around and blah blah blah the whole sales pitch. I figured I give them a few days and see if it was still on the lot and get the price lower..

Let them sweat it a bit. The best piece of advice for buying a new vehicle is patience. No car dealership will show their Ace of Spades on the initial hand.....they'll hold until they think it is absolutely necessary to close the deal. They'll call you....trust me.

My 2008 DC 5.7L TRD was $33,000 sticker. They initially told me $27,000 with $1,500 on my trade in and 6% with a 820 on my credit score. NONSENSE. I walked out on the sales manager, but got a call the next day with $25,000 as his "final offer" with the same interest rate. I told him to find another potential buyer with my credit score and TRY and sell it to them for that. 3 days later got another call for $24,000 and 5%, so I came back into the building. Negotiated him up to $4,000 on my trade and walked out of there as $20,000 and had them toss in the 100,000 mile warranty also.

Patience will be your best negotiation tool.....use it!!
