New Owner....almost

Getting ready to test drive and quite possible purchase a 2008 DC tomorrow.
Very excited to learn about the 'Tundra World' that I am just realizing is out there.....I had no idea.

Anyway, Hey gang, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions to come.

Thanks,

Matt

Howdy Matt, and welcome to TTZ. I promise you, you won't be disappointed if you end up buying the Tundra... a great truck! And, btw, feel free to ask any questions you'd like as I promise you there are folks here who can answer them.

We drove it and loved it! Made an offer and it was countered, etc. Anyway....we are calling our lender in the morning and told the owner we would take it! We're pretty excited.

2008 Black, DC, SR5, 4.7L, 9500 miles

.....and for mod help....haha....

Here's the short list.

Spray Liner
Tint (non currently)
Wheels (has cast gray ones......would like the TRD wide spokes)
CIA maybe....i don't know enough about them
a hitch of some sort to go on my tow stub.
and some tie down hooks of some kind. i like the pop up ones....and i don't want to spend the money on the OEM track.

I'm open to suggestions on any of that stuff. i like a stock look with some power/mileage upgrades.

Thanks guys.

Matt

The best power/mileage upgrade would be to get a truck with the 5.7. The 4.7 has the 5spd tranny and the mileage is not as good as the 5.7 with the 6spd tranny. As for power, no matter what you do to the 4.7, it will never have the power of a stock 5.7. Another thing to consider is that the 4.7 has a timming belt, while the 5.7 has a chain. If you have your heart set on that truck, then good luck but I am sure you could find a truck with the 5.7 in your price range, and you will be much happier.

Tonyspin, thanks for the input.

I won't ever use the towing capacity and the 4.7L is going to more than meet my needs. I was just asking for curiosities sake. Any input is still appreciated.

thanks guys.
