| (1) 73 Dodge Dart [bicycle was cheaper and I never drove it] (2) 71 VW Karmann Ghia (that was a fun little car full of personality (3) 80 Volvo 240D Station Wagon [not as reliable as we would have liked-parts hard to get - don't recall the miles but think around 160K or so-sat at the shop for 6 months once waiting for a part from Sweden] (4) 88.5 Ford Escort SW [no complaints - 250K on original clutch-only major repair was tie rod ends had to be replaced and a fuel pump-we abused that little car and it treated us good] (5) 94 Plymouth Voyager [not sure, odometer broke around 225K about 3 years before it was scrapped, got new transmission at 200K, car was wrecked by a hit and run driver beyond repair (6) 96 Ford Explorer -210K, still using as an around town runabout -original 4WD Transmission and Engine. Other than eating oxygen sensors and brake rotors, no major problems - rebuilt brakes, added new shocks, other than routine maintenance nothing else. (7) 07 Toyota Tundra -1700miles, it needs to last like the others, Husband had (independantly) An old mazda with wankle rotary engine and currently has a Chevy panel van he is using for work - He owned a few step vans over the years, an Isuzu Cube Truck, etc. His don't last like mine because he does not take as good care of them Last edited by GrannyJ; 11-08-2007 at 11:11 AM. | Starting in 1976 1972 Triumph TR-6. Traded for a... 1974 MG Midget. Traded for a... 1969 Opel GT. Traded for a... 1980 Dodge Colt. In 1985, I married a 1982 Subaru 4WD Sedan and a wife came with it. In 1988, traded the Dodge Colt for a 1988 Subaru 4WD Hatchback. In 1992, traded the Subaru 4WD Sedan for a 1992 Mazda B-2600i 4WD Pickup In 1994, sold the Subaru 4WD Hatchback and bought a 1991 Honda Civic from my Mom. In 2001, traded the Civic for a 2002 Honda Accord. In 2002, bought a 1998 Honda Civic for commuting purposes. In 2003, traded both the 1992 Mazda and the 1998 Civic for a 2001 Toyota Tundra. In 2007, bought a 2002 Corolla for commuting purposes. So the current motor pool is: 2002 Honda Accord 2002 Toyota Corolla 2001 Toyota Tundra That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
