i had one of these:

honda CBR600RR

I know it's not the fastest, by far! but it did the trick for me. The only problem I had with the bike was my back got sore after 20 minutes of riding (probably because I'm getting old). They're fun for 30 minutes, but not for long rides. Just my 2 cents. Oh, and if you get one buy an armoured jacket and helmet!

I shouldn't of posted those pics!! Now everytime someone posts on here I have to look at that beautiful bike. I think it was about this time last year I thought I needed a bike too. It took the wife about 2 weeks to talk me out of it!

Man you guys are giving me the FEVER in a bad way to get back on a bike. The Wife just won't allow it right now. I had a cruiser and got rid of it in 01 when she was pregnant with our Son. I acted hastily and got rid of it when If I just parked for a little while, I'd still be on bikes today. So I'm over the cruiser thing and now in the worst way I want a BMW 1200GS,maybe even the Adventure. I've ridden my friends RT and it was pretty nice, but there's just something about the super comfortable riding position of the GS and if it was the GSA, it would just be icing on the cake going offroad.

A buddy of mine has a GS - it's a fun bike to ride on the street, never took it off road though. I'd imagine it would be a little heavy for serious backwoods use, but some dirt trails would be a blast.

I just got done looking at BMW's website. Fell in love with one of these. Then I seen the price. Still pretty sweet bike. Looked at those 1200's and those are some beasts Rone.
