Rone, I've always wanted to get a sport bike! If I wasn't married I would already have one. The wifey wants some type Harley that she can ride on too. I don't think it's what I would want to do on a bike at my age right now. I want something I can go really fast on and scare myself! She is probably right though, I have wrecked every dirtbike I've ever ridden!

Oh yeah nice pic...........

Thanks! You should look into BMW's sport-touring motorcycles. Sounds like they would fit the bill for you and your wife. The K1200GT is an awesome bike (my dad has an '04 model). I've ridden it about 10,000 miles, including several weekend getaways with some fast sportbike riders, and I never once felt like I was falling behind (while keeping at a street pace). The improvements on the newer GT's (motor and suspension) sound like they are a sportbike masquerading as a sport-tourer.

One of my uncles lives in Manhattan and has some nice bikes. He got to live in Holland for about 5 years for work and loved it!! Never took a car anywhere, always went on the bike. Right now he has some type of big BMW sport-touring and some type of Ducati. It isn't one of their all out sport bikes but it is very sporty. Has some big exhaust pipes that stick out on both sides, it's really loud. I can't find it on their website so they might not make it anymore.

I kinda like the Buell 1125R. If I was to get one I wouldn't want one that had a back seat, or one that I would have to take her with me!! LOL She wouldn't like going fast at all and I wouldn't want to risk her life.

Well, if your goal is to keep her off the bike, then don't get a BMW. They're super comfortable! lol

As for her not wanting to risk her life, bikes and Manhattan don't mix too well.... I speak from experience....

OOOO I hope you don't have anymore of those days.
I think there is a lot of us riders who have been close, real close. In my younger days I loved riding, still do. The last and fastest one was an Yamaha FJ. It was plenty fast for me. When the kids came I switched my thrill to ATV'S to be safer. Not sure how much it is though. LOL.

Yeah really, One of the members of the Dave Matthews Band just died from his injuries of an ATV crash. Keep in mind DmB members are not very young.

Ya I know. We are careful and lucky. We drive defensively. My son and I have more than 15,000 miles on ATV'S. We do haul ass sometimes. But I always preach -- "the right time and the right place".
