It Feels so GOOD to Own a Tundra!

You know the more I read good things about the all NEW Tundra the better it feels to own one. I am a fireman and as fireman go theres no tougher crowd than living with 20 other guys for 48 hours at a wack! We are what I like to call an extension to our familys at home. I drove into work the day before yesterday and after all the gloating I have been doing (fireman do that!) and all the guys looking under my hood and sitting in my truck. I pull up at work only to see a brand new Maroon/Red 07 Tundra with dealer tags on it in my parking lot at my station. I am immediately smiling ear to ear, and thinking who did it. Well one of my co-workers just couldn't stand to look at my new Tundra anymore and traded in his Dodge for one. I absolutely love it. The Fire Chief asks me what the heck is going on are those Toyotas breeding in the parking lot? I just laugh cuz he wants one too and he's a Ford guy. I am pretty sure the Tundras are not done breeding in my Fire Dept yet!

Before I bought my truck, one friend was talking about new cars are only neat the first time you see them. After that they are old news and no big deal. We talked about the new Tundra a few times when I was thinking of buying a new truck. I ordered a Tundra and didn't tell anyone. One day that friend said I should buy a new Tundra and I told him I already did. He was giddy for the next month waiting for my truck to come in. I've had the truck for almost 2 months now and he is still excited about the truck. He loves to ride in it and wants me to drive every time we go somewhere. He wants me to lift it with mud tires and sup up the engine. He's always telling me to do stuff to the truck but my wallet keeps saying no. He said when he buys a new truck he wants a big CM just like I have. Problem is, he'll be upset with the gas mileage if he does get one. He puts about 30K+ miles on his truck each year and wants something with better gas mileage than his Ford Ranger gets.

Two other friends with gen-1 Tundras also drool over the CM when they see it. I bet one of them buys one sometime soon.

People DO love to ask questions about my new truck too! Of course, I don't mind showing them and letting them test drive it. The best compliment I have gotten is from my father in law who is a GM retiree. After going to Chicagoland and back for a NASCAR race, he said, it is too bad that GM can't make a truck that pretty and efficient! Of course, I had to explain that I take pride in knowing my truck was made here is the good ole USA. If time can convince my father in law (about as loyal to GM as you get) that the Toyota Tundra is a quality product - I think that it would be much easier for most anybody else to figure this out.

It's funny ever since I debadged my truck and replaced the grille all the Ford & Chevy guys ask me how I like that Dodge, The Dodge guys say "How's that new Ford"......LOL!

It's funny to watch their expression when I tell them it's a Toyota! But once I tell them they have plenty of questions about it!

Tundra is breeding lol

Hello, i would just like to say that i am a proud owner of a 2007 Tundra Crewmax 5.7L as well and just as elated with it as you are. Any where i go i get compliments about the looks of the truck. But the best is when i pull up next to a Ram,F-150,)r Silverado at a light and just blow them away with raw power from a Japanese Truck LOL. The big 3 are looking for any problem info leaks they can find to try to tarnish what is definitely the BEST 1/2 ton pickup on the market today. But at the end of the day the product sells itself and will multiply in front of your very eyes into a widespresd euphoria of truck owners. So tell your buddy to stop thinking about it and just go to a Toyota dealer today and drive out in one. By the way there is a cool video on a site (Toyota Tundra Reviews, Toyota Tundra Accessories, and Tundra Information) that you can share with your firehouse buddies for a good laugh. After arriving at the site click on best 2007 tundra videos and then click on Tundra vs Ram tug of war and start laughing.By the way this is my 3rd 1/2 ton pickup and it is the best by FAR. What a kickass ride!!!!!!

Weird, I never get ANY questions about mine. Just some nice lady at the local Wawa that said, "My that is a big truck!"

Right after I got the truck I went out to dinner with my parents. After eating we were climbing in the truck and 2 spots over there was a couple that were leaving in their Chevy truck. The guy rolled down the window and asked if the truck was the new Dodge MegaCab. I replied, "No, it's the new Tundra." He said it was a good looking truck. As he was driving out, he drove behind the truck and saw the tailgate badges and I heard him say with surprise in his voice, "Oh, it's a Toyota." Silly me thought everyone knew who made the Tundra.

I dont get as many "ohhhs" and "ahhhs" as I did when I drove around the big ole lifted Titan....

but I get my share. Before long this one will be towering over everyone and I'll be an attention whore again!

Most of the responses I get are... "Look how big that cab is! Do they make it with a bigger bed?" and when I'm driving JT's... "Nice looking truck what is it?"

Now after taking down one of the prized runners in the area in front of about 30 locals with my CM ( F250 Bully Dog tuned Diesel) I get..."whens the next race?" "You smoked that truck like it was sitting still" "Thats just bad ass...I cant believe how fast it moves!"
