A department in the SF Bay Area. Coming up on 21 years.

That saying reminds me of what I tell my new officers..."Courage is the act of being the only one who knows how truly scared you are".

Did you guys have any involvement in Katrina? I still don't fully understand what happened with the gun collectors after that storm hit. And thanks for your sacrifice ....

Not Katrina. Wrong side of the state. We were the "overshadowed by Katrina, got destroyed by Rita" people. We took a direct hit from Catagory 3 Rita about a month after Katrina. An experience I do not want to have again.

When you refer to the gun collectors do you mean the jacka## beuracrats who took it upon themselves to take the guns from the law abiding citizens trying to protect their homes??? If so, I'm not sure what happened to them, but I'd be willing to bet it wasn't enough justice.

Yeah that is what i am referring to I thought maybe some of the other districts, or parishes were doing back up work after Katrina.

I don't know how most of you feel about "Reserve Officers" I often heard "your just a wanna be," but I was a Sebastian County, AR Reserve Deputy for four years, part-time deputy for two years during the Cuban "refugee" situation, including being one of the forty-two Officers which held back over five-hundred cubans during the Fort Chaffee riot, then I spent eighteen years as a Reserve training sergeant for the Fort Smith, AR Police Department. Because a lot of my service was very little or no pay at all, I suppose I did "wanna be" a full-time Officer, just couldn't take the cut in pay!
