Our old Black and White TV's picture was so bad, they might as well have been on the radio!

I fondly remember those days. Rabbit ears, tin foil and your dad having you stand by the TV holding the antennae were all common occurrences in houses all across America. (Quality time is what they call it today, or child abuse I forget.)

But one thing we had they don't today were honest to goodness cartoons on Saturday mornings that made us laugh. Nothing like a Dose of the Roadrunner and Coyote with your Fruit loops and Tang to make you happy.

Once in awhile Hawaii 5-0 was on too.

And the night time programming was Three's Company

I had to adjust the antenna and hold a pair of pliers. The TV channel knob was broken and you needed pliers to change the channel.

I forgot about The Dukes of Hazzard, and the Fall Guy. I used to always want a truck like he had.

I always wondered why they took Speedy Gonzales off the air. They used to say it put down the hispanic community and portrayed them as lazy. I saw an episode a couple of years ago and I remembered parts of the episode as a kid. After seeing that, I think they took it off the air because of the sexual innuendos. At the end it shows the beat up cat in the background and Speedy with his hands around a couple of female mice. And then it shows two slow mice eating the cheese that the cat was guarding and they were praising Speedy. Speedy says, "You may have got the cheese, but I got the pu--y!" and he winks at the camera.
