Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad you and the motorcycle rider are O.K. Man, talk about a "deer in the headlights" situation. Good luck.

Almost every other day I encounter the deer in the headlights or a glimps of a tail just exiting the road way. I hit a deer in JT's lifted Titan about a month before we traded it. The deer ended up under the truck due to the point of impact being so high. Another good reason to go sky high!

Squid I'm glad everything worked out for you and the bike driver and no one was injured!

I bet you are glad you are not driving the Z!

I got the call to come pick up the big pig.

It took longer then expected because when they got the outer fender off they found that he did in fact get his leg stuck up under the fender and beat the the side of the bed all to heck so that had to be replaced too. He said they have pics so if I can get a copy I'll post it when I get back.

I'm so very very fortunate to have been driving the 3500 rather than a little small sports car or maybe even the Queens Titan considering where he hit and how big he was.

Trucks rule!

Sorry about your lousy luck with your truck getting all beaten up and all but the main thing is you're okay! I live out in the sticks and have so many close calls that it's crazy. One morning I rounded a curve only to have a 400 pound hog standing there staring at me. I was driving my Ford Ranger Sport and found out real fast how well that little sucker handles in panic mode. I think if I had been in the Tundra it would have been an ugly morning!

I hear ya. I drive over 100 miles a night, 35,000 miles a year in a mostly rural area and have been doing so for over 8 years and the one thing I always knew is the question wasn't if I'd hit a deer, horse or cow, but rather when and how bad would it be and guess what? I was right.

But she's back home and looking good except for the one clearence light that isn't working, (Forgot to check that) probably just forgot to put a bulb in it.

All bad jokes aside, your experience is exactly the reason I drive a truck. The old Ferd has kept both Mrs Coot and myself alive. I got hit at over 70 on the freeway here in Phoenix. It lifted the truck up and tossed it over a lane, bent the frame all to h3ll, dropped the front wheel and hub, then smacked the rear of the truck......I ended up next to the barricade that separates the oncoming traffic. Upshot? Not a scratch for me......Lady that hit me went to the hospital with back injuries..... We made them straighten the frame, repair the damage, and kept on keepin' on.
Mrs Coot was stopped at a cross road stop sign and got broad sided by a Dodge. Result......... Car was totaled, Ferd.....Another trip to the body shop..... Not a scratch for her Holiness....... Yup, gas is high, but you can't put a price on your health....... SIZE MATTERS!

I almost hit a 300 pound hog about a month ago driving home on back highways. If I had been a couple of seconds earlier, I would have been swerving to avoid hitting it... doing 85. There were a lot of gnats out that night and the front of my truck (and windshield) was getting covered in them. I was using up the washer fluid to keep the windshield as clean as it could. Saw this dark shadow off in the distance on the road, couldn't tell if I was seeing things. I asked the other guys if they see it and they said no. As I got closer, I could barely tell that it moved over to the shoulder of the road and then I saw it was a big black feral hog. The other guys in the truck never saw it. The other guys we know that were in a truck about a mile back saw it on the side of the road and the 2 guys in the front barely saw it. They thought it might have been a big dog. I saw it up close and knew it was a hog. I've seen other dead ones on the side of the road in that area and always wondered how people hit something as big as a hog, now I know how hard they are to see at night.
