Everytime I've been in Texas on a 2lane the slower moving vehicles get over on the shoulder and let me pass. That doesn't happen in Kansas. Maybe I scared them or something!

That's common for country folk on country highways in Texas. You can always spot the city guy cause he'll be driving slow and won't move over to let people pass.

One thing I've noticed is that the East Texas rednecks (i.e., east of I-35) don't pull over to let you pass even with a shoulder, while the folks west of I-35 (except for the East Texas rednecks, city folks and some folks outside Texas) seem to almost always pull over to let you pass. I am beginning to speculate that the East Texas rednecks are either too stupid to do so, or too drunk to realize you are behind them... and BTW, I can say that because, as Jeff Foxworthy says, "I are one," lol! That said, I DO pull over for folks to pass me who are going faster than me (which btw, is not very often, because like Tox, I tend to push the speed envelop!).

Rarjar, you might of been one of those "East Texas" rednecks that pulled over for me last time I was down there. I was about 80 miles south east of Dallas picking up the male dog in my Avatar. It was a really nice part of Texas, there were a lot of multi-million dollar horse farms on the road I was on.

What route did you take onpoint...Interstate or Texas/US highways, and when did you take this trip, as I actually was on the route to and from DFW in late September!

I stayed off the Interstate as much as possible. It was actually in April two years ago. I drove to Texas twice in two weeks. The first trip was all the way down to Galveston(R.I.P.), and the week after we got back I thought I needed another dog and made the trip again. I used to repo for Ford Motor Credit and made it down to Texas about 20 times doing that.

Maybe we can hook up with the other Texas members in a Tundra meet on one of your trips down?
