I've been screaming for years that idiot engineers need to fix the stupid traffic lights - at the very least synchronize them so you don't go from a green light to a red light time after time after time. And flashing yellow/flashing red after 11pm makes great sense.... put the yellow for the higher flow road and red for the lower flow road.

I think it was Mercedes who was working on an automated downtown city. They had something like an HOV lane that would control the car so you could do whatever you wanted on the way to work and the car would drive itself. You could even sleep and the car would wake you when you got near your exit. Then when you get to downtown, all the parking spaces have sensors to figure out if the spot is taken or not. So on your NAV unit, you can find all the open parking spots near your destination and not have to drive around searching for one. They have a small city in Germany wired for this already and they have been testing their cars there for a while.

Wow, now that's cool. But imagine how bad drivers would be after a few years of that!!

Yah I know. Even back in college for a research paper I contacted the FED, talk about wheels not turning!
