He commented about what BS it was when John McCain and George Bush were proclaiming that the fundementals of our economy were strong.

He will get a new job of course, as soon as he can...as any of us would...but in the meantime, he'll get the help he needs and deserves.

He says that he and his family will never vote republican again.
Johnny is the head of the house hold, he is 50yrs old.....wow! .

I agree with the notion that Unemployment benefits are a good thing.

Here we go again " George Bush were proclaiming that the fundementals of our economy were strong".

I seriously need to dig into to the DNC playbook, and start pulling up the list on Barney Frank and Chris Dodd just to get started.

This democratic entitlement agenda, that everyone should get a house regardless of what they make started all this. Barney and the Dems demanded banks give loans to everyone, ok so the banks did it in fear of govt pentalies. Ppl that were pushing the debt to income ratio limits to much and could not afford a house got one, which drove ppl into I better get one before I cant frenzy. Which drove up prices, all the while the banks took up toxic loans at the urging of Barney Frank.

Homes prices skyrocket= ppl buying what they could buy if pushed before they couldnt buy if the price went up= ARMs went up,= ppl over spent= ppl couldn't pay there mortgages,= houses began to foreclose,= from profits, banks went to loosing money, = negative earnings= then stock prices began to fall as more and more foreclosures took place.= Less work load at the banks,= layoffs=layoffs equal more ppl cant pay there mortgages= more foreclosures=less consumer spending, = credit freezes,= less purchases cash and on credit= less demand= more layoffs. Its a continuing cycle that keeps repeating itself = RESPONSIBLE americans that been working at there jobs for years and paying there mortgages for years start loosing there jobs and going into foreclosure themselves because of the greedy, entitlement folks, they dragged everyone down with them.

The democratic party started this downward spiral with this entitlement garbage, McCain and others tried back in 03,04,05, and 06 to stop this and your party stopped them, Mainly Pelosi and BARNEY! You want to play the blame game fine, own up to your parties entitlement policies that drove us to this point.

Sorry if I seem harsh, I just heard enough Dem BS this entire election from both the media and my wife. All of last year I was listening to my better half complaining and going balistic at home about how she couldnt say anything at work when everyone was talking bs. She finally will be tenured in 2010, then and only then she cant be fired for any bs reason, meaning she can fire back. Luckily they dont know her political preference.

idealistic:
  1. Showing a tendency to envision things in perfect but unrealistic form.
  2. Not compatible with reality.
Nothing is perfect Johnny. Unemployment would have be available regardless of who was POTUS. The fundamentals of our economy are strong. They are the best in the entire world. That is why we are having an illegal immigration problem. People are breaking in, not out of our country, because this is the only place in the world where you can be whatever you want to be. The opportunities in this country are so unlimited that even a kid who grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia with no father could get a superlative education, and become the leader of the free world. If you read Leaves piece above, that was exactly accurate about how we got into this "financial crisis" and maybe took a look at the opposing view, you might be surprised to find some eye opening information. Also; before you get all mad at me and the other conservatives on this forum, just take these two sentences and chew them up for a minute. Conservatives want everyone to be succesfull, reaching their full potential on their own without the govt guidence.(that is how this great country happened.) Democrats want you dependent on them for your every need, and everytime they help out poor Johnny, they expect a vote. I vote for self accuation, not for a nanny.

Its a Kensyan (not sure if thats spelled correctly) approach to the economy. Want a template for success look to the New Deal. It got us out of a jam back then and just might work now. The economics are much simpler then what you hear. In really bad times lower intrest rates and pump money into the economy. When times are good raise taxes and build a surplus.

New Deal did nothing to get us out of the Great Depression. WWII was the catalyst for recovering. The only way to keep a Keynesian economy growing is to increase the monetary base and/or aggregate credit outstanding, otherwise there will simply not be enough money to pay back the due credit.

That is where we are at....

Respectfully I disagree with you and I fully believe you really really don't know what your talking about.

I have provided you with facts and you have provided me with your views and that of NBC.

These are facts and not opinions, I give you the smoking guns.

Yet another reason to be a part of this great forum...everyone thinks like me...well, almost everyone. My problem is why the rest of the country can't see the obvious. To me it seems like common sense. I simply cannot see the rationale of the Democratic point of view. Back before the election my wife and I were in a "discussion" with a neighbor and very good friend, they are democrats. It got a little intense and topped off with her calling the both of us "cold-hearted, just like the rest of the republicans". All because we said basically that we feel no obligation to have our tax dollars go to pay for medical care, food, etc of the illegal aliens flooding into the US.
