Unhappy A Little Worried

I just got back from a roadtrip to Dallas, TX this weekend and I noticed something a little worrisome. I noticed that while traveling between 40 and 60 MPH, when my truck downshifts from OD to a lower gear (either 5th or 4th I think), I sometimes get a shudder like I just ran over a small rumble strip. Can anyone offer an explaination for this?

Is this while going up a hill or when decelerating?

How many miles do you have on your truck right now?

There were quite a few people that experienced this until their truck got broken in.

This was mainly happening when I was accelerating lightly to pass. Very few very slight hills on the trip so I don't think they were a factor. My truck has 1500 miles on it right now.

I read the entries suggested Scout, and I think I'm going to take it to the dealership soon to get it addressed. They sound very similar to the problem I'm having, though it seems to be a little less drastic than some. I'm going to be madder than a wet hen if the tranny in my new truck is bad and the dealership gives me a hard time about addressing it.

I tried to get to the article through the link and they wanted me to pay $155.00 for a year's subscription to their newsletter...................NOT. If you know of another source for the article I would be much appreciative. Thanks for the help thusfar, though.

Wow, Chicks, notice they also mentioned the now emerging tailgate issue... didn't take as long as I thought it would. Nothing like the internet to get an issue in the forefront, huh?
