07 Tundra TPMS

Anyone have info as to disabling Tire Pressure Monitor System on 07 Tundra? Seems I recall seeing a post someplace describing how to do this.

If you have steel wheels and are getting different wheels, then you have to get new sensors which means about $300+. Or if you are buying old wheels from another Tundra owner, they usually come without the TPMS in them and just have a regular valve stem.

I swear I saw someone who got the steel sensors to fit in after market wheels on TS with a $5 part. I'll look over there and see if I can find the post.

I have an extra set of wheels that I intend to mount snow tires on. Would rather not try to change tire monitors from one set of wheels to another. Seems there is always some damage to monitors when tires are dismounted or mounted. Would like to be able to change to winter tires then back to regular tires in spring without having to attempt changing sensors. Don't really see the benefit of such an expensive item. A good tire gauge is much cheaper. Just my opinion.

Here is where the writeup was, but it was for the 06+ Tacoma's. Not sure if the same rules will apply since the Tacoma's DRL module/activation isn't the same...

No sensor in 07 Tundra spare according to owners manual. If valve is rubber there is no sensor.
