You guys are braver than me trying for top speed... I guess I'm too chicken.. besides, even if I was brave enough to do it, I'm not sure I can afford the gas to try it right now!! lol!

I've maybe hit 100 coming down Ranger Hill west of here. It's a long curving 7% drop. Haven't hit the limiter yet. But I know mine doesn't shut down at 95.

Did you know the older Fords used to shut down everything when you hit the limiter? Power steering and everything until the truck slows down on its own. Scared the heck out of a friend of mine one day.

I didn't know that Tox, but shutting down the power steering and brakes (I assume) at that speed sounds awfully dangerous. If Ford made that truck in today's "sue for anything" world, bet they would have fixed it fast!

This was a mid 90s model F150. He had almost zero control until the truck slowed down on its own like 5 mph below the limiter.

Have an 2007 mine drops off at 110mph. I like speed and all, don't forget these are trucks!!!!! Not corvettes. Not trying to sound like any ones mom....
