truck shutting off at 95????

well i just got my tundra about 2 weeks ago and waited till i got a little over a thousand miles on it to give it a little hell.i stompped it and off we went. in a very short amount of time the truck stops at 95 and will not go any faster and that was a big dissappointment. can some one help me and tell me what i can do to get the speed limiter off my truck. any info will be greatly appreciated.

Others know better than me, but until they come up with a model specific programmer/chip for the Tundra, I doubt there is much you can do to defeat the limiter.

So far no one has broken into the ecu. We are all waiting for programmers to come out. Do you have a stock tire size? I thought I recall the top speed being limited to 120-125.***

Speed limiter should be above 105. Tell your dealer you were at the 1/4 mile track and the limiter shut the truck down just before you got to the finish line. See if they can change it.

i have watched that same video on you tube before i tested mine out and i was all excited. as for the wheels that are on my truck they are the 20 inch toyota rims. i hope they come out with something soon. if there is one thing i cant stand its a speed limiter.

Those guys in Dubai regeared their trucks to get a higher top speed. They still have the limiter, but it now shuts off at a higher speed. That video is not a stock Tundra.

I think the second video is not the guy from Dubai. That looks like 112 mph. Maybe a fluke, diff tires, or gearing?

Mikecheat is from the US. I think he has a rcsb. Some 07 trucks have the limiter set at 107 and others have the limiter set at 115. I have no clue why there is a difference in the limits set. Maybe that's the difference in the 4:10 and the 4:30 rear end. That would mean the limiter is more of a 6th gear RPM limiter... maybe. That would also explain how the Dubai guys could regear and get a higher top speed.

I also don't know why Dream4it's truck would shut down at 95. Maybe it was lowered in the 08 model.
