UPDATE on my rusty seat

Well, it turns out that I might be getting this fixed. I complained to the National Headquarters in CA. In turn, my TMS CSR asked if they could repair my rusty bar. The District Manager told my CSR it was OK! Good news right ? Well like always there has to be a catch...

SO, I get a phone call from the dealership saying that they need me to bring in my truck, they will take out my passenger seat and fix it, then I can come back in a couple of days and they will put the seat back into my truck! (no foolingg!)

Hmm, I don't think I like the idea of driving around my truck without the passenger seat in it anytime let alone for a couple of days.
So, I call the Service Manager at the dealership and he tell me "Sure you can have a rental car!" "Oh, now Brian told you that you have to pay for this up front and then TMS will reimburse you?" (oh ther's the catch!)

Hmm... now I don't think I am comfortable with having to shell out ANY money for a repair on my truck that is still under warranty and that HAS RUST!

So, I am under negotiations with the TMS CSR to see what they can do to pay the dealership.
I guess I am so old fashioned to think that they would do this to begin with...why do I need to get caught up in the red tape.

BTW - now that this problem has been brought to the attention of certain people it was told to me that this rust issue has been seen in several trucks.
A whole of grief for not painting a piece of metal that you can put your feet on. Hmm... water and unprotected metal...rust would seem to be a natural occurrence.
I will keep you updated.

Whoever engineered that bar without paint is a Clusterfuk to say the least, that metal should be shinny and black.

Sorry for your troubles, they act like you did it on purpose.
