What The Heck Is That Piece of Foam Looking Thing???

Sitting on top of the 5.7 engine block - area circled....

Please tell me EVERYONE has one of these....LOL!

I think it is supposed to be attached to the underside of the plastic cover as sound deadening material.

actually it is foam, I took all of mine out. probably voided the warranty--LOL
It is just sound deadener- some people think 400 Horses should be quiet....????

It's there on all the 5.7s. It's there to keep the engine quieter. You can leave it or remove it if you want.

Mine is gone too! Looks like crap! LOL..Also took the one off of the front of the radiator, which is really crappy looking..Toyota could have put something else up there if it was indeed there to deflect air down or whatever it was meant for.

Yeah that front radiator one, WTF??? it's like 1/16" thick connected to the top of the rad mount? The first time I looked under my hood that thing was already in tatters! Who's idea was that thing?
