| Fix for "double-click" back issue (courtesy of wleeb) I think I found the problem with IE requiring 2 clicks on the 'Back" button and why this only happens to some IE clients and not others. Ads are getting partially blocked by something upstream of your computer, this could be your router or DNS provider. To verify if this is happening to you, go to a page that you have experienced having to click 'Back' twice on and before you click the 'Back' button click the drop down arrow next to it, this will show your page history. You will probably have an entry for an ad that has been partially loaded but failed because it was blocked and IE thinks it is a page you previously visited. ![]() Here is a fix I have tested and seems to work. Download and install IE7Pro. Once installed then right mouse click the IE7Pro icon in the status bar and choose 'Preferences'. Turn on 'Ad Blocker' then shut down and restart IE.

| A heads up everyone... if and when you upgrade to Internet Explorer 8, the "double click to get back to the previous screen" problem reoccurs. I did a little research and some techies are saying uninstalling IE7Pro and then reinstalling it may help, but since I don't have IE8 installed here at work, I can't try this ppossible fix until I get home this evening. I'll keep everyone apprised as to the outcome. If that doesn't fix the double click problem with IE8, then I guess I am faced with either reverting to IE7 or double clicking back until IE8Pro is available. |
| ||||
| OK, uninstalled IE7Pro and reinstalled it as suggested by the techies with IE8, and sadly no luck with fixing the now renewed double click issue with the upgraded IE8. Soooooo, I guess I will decide the next couple of days to either revert back to IE7, or put up with the double click back problem, lol! I would suggest you avoid IE8 unless you're willing to put up with no "double-click" fix for a while. |

| I agree with you RONE, Firefox rocks! I can't recall how many years have gone by since I dumped IE. |

| i never did anything to my computer to fix the back button issue...but seems to be fixed.
