2010 Tundra Backup Camera kits in stock @ Sparks!!!

We just put them up on the site. Please check them out here:

Rearsight™ Backup Camera Kit at Sparks Toyota Scion - Toyota Racing Development Parts

The OEM package if you want to add it after the vehicle purchase is $1700 retail so this kit is a HUGE discount off of that. We have the installs on the site to check out if you want to tackle this job on your own and save some extra money. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Jamie

I have a question.

When will a plug be available to convert the drop down monitor to the new "all in one" mirror?

Where would you be getting a drop down monitor from? Are you referring to the one that Toyota discontinued? Because the 2010 Tundra's use the mirror for the camera view. At this time I am not seeing anything about a wire harness for this.

Yeah Jamie, we're asking if there is a conversion harness to allow the older Tundras (such as mine with the drop down overhead console monitor) to use the new in-mirror monitor. Make sense?

Hey its Monday, I'm still working off my weekend brain.

That makes complete sense now. Rostra already has that for you guys. You can get their camera kits from them and they have the option for the in-mirror camera so even if this one doesn't work you can get the mirror from them for the 2007-2009 Tundra's. We don't sell those kits just the ones that we get from Toyota for now.

Looks like they changed the tailgate handle and camera too. Wonder if they switched to a 12 volt camera.

Technically they didn't change it because this one isn't from Toyota. South East Toyota got it from Rostra so this is their kit. Still pretty good but instead of a new tailgate handle you use the one you already have and drill a hole for the camera.

Back up camera

I just posted about the back up camera I bought from Sparks that doesn't work. Do you have any advice?

Okay, so I bought the Toyota OEM back up camera and installed it. This weekend I bought my Alpine 500 head unit from Mesa radio here in Albuquerque. They installed the head unit and wired in the back up camera using the supplied harnesses that came with it. The truck was pre wired for it underneath.
The back up camera does not work however. Mesa radio thinks it is defective, as they have the appropriate 6 volts (5.6 or whatever it is) present at the tailgate. Inside the truck, the head units screen goes dark when I shift into reverse and the word "camera" appears on the upper left corner of the head units screen, but no rear view...just dark.
I took the truck to the dealer this morning, to have them replace the camera under warranty (I'll have to pay the labor costs).
Does anyone have any input about this problem?

Okay, I just heard back from the dealer. The camera is defective. They have ordered a replacement for it, and I will pay the cost of labor to install it (which shouldn't be much since they are so easy to install). I still don't know what it will look like though, since apparently the one I now have has been discontinued. Maybe they'll just replace the camera part and use the same tailgate handle I have now?
