Donahoe (I-con) Lift Vs. Truxxx

Just pulled the trigger on a 08 Crewmax Limited 4X4 and was comparing lifts. I was told the Donahoe which is now I-Con? was one of the best in regards to ride quality and that the Truxxx lift was a rougher ride then factory. Has anyone rode in both? I read alot about the Truxxx but have read nothing on the I-con. The I-con is a complete set up (not a spacer) and runs $1200. My main concern is ride.

Also, how does any of these lifts effect the CV angle on the 4X4's, any problems or dealers giving anyone a hard time when they take the truck in for warranty?

BTW this is an awesome forum. Great Info....

The Truxxx is a spacer that goes above the factory shock. Your ride should be almost the same as your factory ride. I say almost because since the truck is level, more weight will transfer to the rear axle so it's a little different. The ICON ride I do not know about. Both will use a differential drop to help the CV angles, but anytime you change the CV angles, it's not good and could cause wear.

I don't think anyone has mentioned going in with a lift on yet. I could be wrong.

Just like Tox said, the Truxxx is a spacer lift, this is a cheap lift for height, nothing wrong with it, it just isn't performance driven.

The (still) Donahoe (& ICON they are a combined company now) is a performance lift, this is a replacement shock with coilspring that is adjustable for height. The ride on the Donahoe/ICON coilovers will be different, but more performance driven, than stock. If you plan on taking the truck offroad, want to have control at speed on dirt/washboard roads or just plan to be off the pavement, the D/I stuff will be designed based on this.

If you are a pavement pounder and don't plan on taking it offroad then the Truxxx lift will be just fine for you.
