question about lift for 08 tundra

i was trying to get a 6 inch lift for my truck and the guy at the 4x4 shop said on these new toy's you can't put lift on because of that vsc stability control. i've seen other trucks with lifts, and was wondering what is the deal???????? will it throw a code with 6 inch lift or what???? so my question is, can you get a lift for 08 tundra without throwing any codes???? also will it void warranty???? my truck has the trd package on it, so i guess i would lose the trd shocks wouldn't i?????? thanks for your help and comments on this fellas....

The problem with a lift/taller tires is that your VSC will engage prematurely. The fix is to have your dealer recalibrate/re-zero your VSC.

I don't know about a six inch lift but I have gone with, as many others on this site have, a 2.5 inch front level kit and a 1 inch rear block to fit 34 x 12.2 x 18 inch tires on the stock rims and have had no problems with the VSC.......

I only have a three inch level kit but I've had VSC problems even with it.

I've had two zero point calibrations done but neither one worked. I believe it is related more with the Tires (Toyo M/t's) than with the lift.

My dealership warned me before I had the calibration they have had other problems with these tires. They did spend some time checking with other dealers and they concured. It is rare but it does happen.

The issue is going around long turns like freeway onramps over 35MPH and the VSC goes off.

Good luck with your lift.
