| Put my XD wheels on yesterday using the stock tires. Obviously there is still plenty of room with the stock tires, but I reduced the offset to give the truck a wider stance and to give the wheels a little more "dish". At full lock there isn't as much room for a larger tire as I would have expected; the closest point seems to be the inside front of the wheel well. Now I have to decide on tires. |

| Would this setup be good to run a snowplow or would I need a coilover setup?

| I think plows are pretty heavy. You are going to need coils to help with the weight.

| Are you getting any kind of shudder when taking off from a stop? Some people have reported the problem after a minor rear end lift. Apparently the solution is to use a 1" spacer on the axle carrier bearing. |

Yup, but ever so slight. Thanks for the suggestion, I am going to try lowering the carrier bearing. I blamed the tapered rear blocks for throwing of the drivline geometry - I am not a fan of blocks, but small ones are ok IMO if the springs are relatively stout. I do not agree with tapered blocks as they change the driveline angles that are designed in by the OEM and can cause vibration in some cases. Chances are the vibration they cause is actually there in every case. The operator may not feel it, but the u-joints do. Mine is so slight I have simply been too lazy to correct it. I was going to swap for non-tapered blocks, but lowering the carrier is much easier if it will solve the issue. A full inch is suggested? |
