Air bag suspension kit

How many have added the airbag kits? Which kit is recommended? This has probably been asked many times. Just wondering how much difference, if any, the airbags make in the empty ride. Will only tow a fairly heavy load occasionally. Don't want something that causes a harsh ride in empty truck. Any info is appreciated.

I have the Firestone RideRite bags on my truck. I run them with 8-10 pounds most of the time. It makes the rear end a tiny bit stiffer when empty but it's not very noticeable. I keep a portable compressor in the truck for airing up the bags when I load something heavy in the back.

AirLift is another big name brand. I found the Firestone reviews to be good and went with them.

I have the Ride-rite 5000 bags in mine also. 45 minute intall... NO DRILLING! I run 10psi in mine empty. Raises rear up 1". I put 50 psi in it when pulling 10,000# trailer. Still rides great. Cant go wrong with these.

I edited my post. I do run mine with a little more air in them. At the 5 pounds minimum, you don't notice the bags in the rear.

I had them on my old truck. they were great!!
also ran them about 10 psi when empty, acted like a sway bar giving it a stiffer ride all the time, but not harsh

Too late for me. Already ordered a set. Trucksprings.com was best deal I found.
