You got it and you have to understand at least the basics to understand how things work or better yet why they don't work when they break. Can architecture is also why we're getting all sorts of cool technology like lane departure notification, hands off parallel parking and it won't be long and you'll put in your destination in your Nav and the truck will drive itself and wake you when you've arrived.

I would love to acquire the trucks computer housings(probably from a wreck) to see if I could decode what chips were used.
