Wouldn't the flame be a bad idea since the apparatus is creating both hydrogen and oxygen? Nothing to stop the flame from shooting down the tube.

How long did it take the glove to fill up? And what blew up in the last picture?

Flame

The flame is definitely a bad idea . In the last picture I was very lucky that the cap was not glued on the bubbler. The temprature was getting up there and the clear tubing was getting a little soft, when I raised the tubing I kinked it and cut off the gas flow. The flame traveled back up the tube and blew the top off the bubbler. which in turn broke the lights off of the ceiling, bounced off the wall, shattered the cap in a thousand pieces and knocked the whole thing off of the bench. It was extremely powerful for such a small amount of gas.

It took about 2 hours to blow up the glove to that size. Keep in mind that hydrogen molecules are smaller than oxygen and can penetrate the glove. they make the rubber more plyable and it tends to strech more than with air. It is not possible to blow a glove up to that size with just air it will burst. (I tried it)

If it had not been for the bubbler both sections of the generator would have undoubtedly exploded also. I don't think that I will try that again.

Oops. I thought the glove blew off. Guess by the sounds of things it would have been better had it been the glove.

I hate this post has stopped. I just found it and would like to see more information if anyone has experiment any further. My father-in-law, wife's uncle and I are looking into adding something like this to an 1984 toyota pick-up with the work horse 4-cylinder.
