New generator nearly completed

Hey guys,
I have been working on this project for wa too long. But I think that I got it, this is my 3rd or 4th one, all of the others had something that I really didn't care for.

It seems that the 5.7 engine will take a good bit of HHO to make the project worth while. I am not sure at this point how much return I will realize, (If any) but after all of the research and work my hopes are high.

First I would like to say that the only major sensors I feel will have be manipulated is the AFR sensors. I believe that this is acheivable using a AFR sensor calibrator from the guys at URD. I haven't installed mine yet but but the sensor is computer controlable from a lap top while driving.

My generator is an 8 cell tube type generator wired in a modified series configuration. That has as produced a HHO volume of 4 Liters Per Minute. But I have tweaked it a little since then and am hoping for more.

My cells are made of 4 stainless steel tubes each measuring 4" long and 1.5",2",2.5" and 3"

This is a bottom shot I drilled, tapped and used 1.5 X 1/4-20 nylon bolts to hold the bottoms

For the top connection I used #10 ga 304 stainless steel wire to hold the top and make the connections.

The housing is made from 7/16" Polyethleyne cutting boards that I bought from walmart. I cut them on the table saw and used clear silicone and screwed them every 1.25" to hold the together.

This pic is on my first time firing the generator up using only 35 amps. To say the least I was excited.

This is the second go at it with a little more amps, the brown color is the deposits from welding the electrodes burning off. After changing the electrolyte it is crystal clear now.

This will be the temperary home for the generator until I finish the installation and testing. And then it will probably reside in a low profile toolbox in the back. I will post more pics and update the installation as it goes.

Wow, Candyman... you're really into this HHO thing. That said, I suspect if you see significant positive results, there may be a lot more of us begging you to show us how to build one of these, lol! BTW, great work!

I talked to a man today running a setup on a V6 Dakota. He gets an improvement of 10mpg on his truck. It runs gasoline and hydrogen part time. He says his conversion cost 4,000.00 so he had to drive 30k miles to pay for the unit.
I am more in favor of a CNG conversion. CNG costs about 1/2 as much as gasoline or even less if you are in an area where you can get the gas. I understand the conversion to CNG might run about 1200.00 for a V8 truck. Anybody know more about CNG?

I work for my city and we have our on natural gas system. Our Gas Superintendant is trying to convice the City Council to let him either convert or buy CNG cars to test with. Mainly use them with people like meter readers. I know of a college close to our town that switch all there buses to CNG.

We have no CNG stations in Waco but the gas company has one for their trucks which have been all converted. They have a mix of F150 and chevy 1500 pickups all running on CNG. Yellow cab here run all their Crown Vics on Propane. Their mechanic says running on propane does not cause the engine oil to get dirty like using gassoline. Another possable benefit from using lp or cng, longer engine life (if done properly) This conversion still may allow for gasoline or gas at the flip of a switch. You can convert diesels to cng also but then they cannot go back to diesel since you replace the injectors with spark plugs and the injection pump with a distributor and install a cng carburetor in place of the air intake or so I am told.

Hey Candyman I have not heard any updates on your Gen. My first go around with the jar system, ( 3 jars ) netted me a 2.75 mpg increase with nothing done on the computer. I went back to my original design of 3 2" PVC tubes giving me 3 cells. Running in series they are at 4 amps and putting out bubbles. I did install two o2 extenders on each sensor. I just put it on Saturday so we will wait and see. Let me know how yours is going.

Did you use oxygen sensor spacers? I'm in the process of plumbing my hho system and have just installed the spacers but don't have the generator active yet. The spacers generated a check engine light, just the oposite from what I expected.
