some fine print i just found out about for towing Toyota dc with towing option, had some fine print i just found out about that has me a little ????ed. If you tow more then 5k you must have a weight distribution hitch if not insurance wont cover you and you will be held in gross negligence by court's which means big time money for plaintive. While this doesn't ???? me off really, for 5k and over you should have a WD hitch any ways. The reason I'm ????ed is if you tow more then 2k you must have some type of sway control system as well, which I'm finding hard to find for a A frame type trailer that doesn't also require a WD hitch to mount on. The same goes for insurance and legal problems with the 2k as the 5k. 2k.... thats a joke

what i said above is for every one every where its toyotas thing. In CA i already know if your trailer is 2k or more you have to have brakes on it, and im sure theres more but thats all i know off the top of my head.

Its not that Toyota has a say it would be your insurance company that would have to find this info, and prove that you did not meat the basic requirements that where needed to be safe on the road as stated by manufacture so your vehicle will tow correctly. If you don’t do this the insurance company if they wanted to could claim gross negligence.
