I really wish Toyota would make the concept diesel they were talking about. I really want a 5th wheel toy hauler I found last weekend ( and the wife likes it too), but the 1/2 ton tundra can't handle the hitch weight. I REFUSE to buy another GM vehicle and don't really like the ford or dodge trucks. I guess I'm just stuck pulling 2 trailers.

Heck modify your truck, it is cheaper then a 5th wheel, and cheaper then buying a new truck. Reinforce the frame, modify the bed, throw on a dually axel, swap out the tranny and throw in a Hino inline 6 Diesel like the one Toyota had in the concept. There are people (custom builders) out there that could do a good job for a reasonable price. GL.

I have heard talk from 1 dealership and one performance shop owner that Toyota is working on purchasing a diesel engine manufacturer and Hino is the obvious choice... Just hear say but I was encoraged to hear that the diesel may not be dead at Toyota...

You shouldn't listen to those people anymore. Toyota is already the majority shareholder in Hino. Hino has been a subsidiary of Toyota for a long time.

The Diesel dually prototype that Toyota built had an 8 liter Hino engine in it.
