If it is in the drive by wire without a fail safe like the German cars have, they better fix it before it kills another family!

I have wife drive with my daughter the truck due to safety and size of truck, not anymore TILL it is proved there is no issue.

I am not a Toyota zealot, so if there is a concern and no fix....UNFORTUNATELY by by TUNDRA.

TOO MANY COINCIDENCES AND HOPE THAT TOYOTA is not trying to hide this under rug like the GM unprotected gas tank issue and so many more.

If it is a software fix, then do it.

i had the pedal stuck on my friends car before. The funny part is that, it runs on a throttle wire. I just threw it into neutral and it just went back down. Its was pretty scary. And to think of how these Toyota adn lexus sedan/coupe owners speeding down a traffic filled highway......down right scary

Most Lexus are pretty quick, but I can't believe that anyone, especially a LEO, couldn't figure out how to shut down the engine or stuff the vehicle into neutral in the time it takes to hold the brakes long enough to cause a brake fire, accelerate to 120 mph and make a call to 911. Perhaps the vehicle had a defect, but the tragic loss of life was avoidable IMHO. Now the Toyota-haters are looking for a scapegoat in Toyota. If the vehicle had been from another manufacturer, that manufacturer would be facing the same allegations. The public loves a good corporate lynching; it a shame that common sense seems to be a lost value.

I drove past that accident about 30 min. after it happened, and I still can't figure out why the sheriff kept going into a dead end intersection instead of keeping on a wide open empty freeway late on a Sunday night. My wife has a 2008 IS 250 lexus and I Have a really hard time trying to get the floor mat off of the hooks in the floor, let alone it just slipping off. I don't even know how they could tell if the floor mat was to blame because the car burned up after T-boning an suv, crashing threw a fence, and flying over a six foot high mound of dirt. I don't know why he didn't just bump it into neutral, I tried it myself at 80 mph with the pedal to the floor to show my wife what to do if the same thing happened to her.

Just got the "official" recall notice today thats been in the news.
I dont know if anyone else has noticed this or not, but while pressing on the gas peddle sometimes, it feels like there is some resistence, like a binding of sorts, kind of like when you shut a hatchback with the helper air cylinders mis-aligned, definitly some kind of binding. I suppose the opposite direction probably has the same issue in releaving the downward pressure. I've never noticed it when its been colder out though, so I think its some kind of clearance issue in the mechanics of the pedal. This still doesnt explain the exceleration part though, but it may be a contributing cause. Just my 2 cents.

Never drove a keyless vehicle, so I don't know if this would work. What would happen if you through the remote out the window? Would the vehicle die? Inquiring minds want to know.

I've noticed a similar urge on my parents' 2001 Corolla and my 07 Tundra to lunge forward when the AC is on while I'm waiting for the green light. I don't notice it when the AC is off. Not sure if this is related to the main topic here...

Hey TundraScout, what year is your Tundra and how many miles on it. From what I have read, you might get the symptoms that you describe any time after 35000 +- miles as it is attributed to ware. The plastics used by CTS seem to be softer than the Denso.

I called 3 dealers and they all told me the basic same thing, regardless of the year, its the mileage that could give you an indication if the pedal is staring to go. (ie more miles, more times your using the pedal).
